Samsung at last officially announces One UI 7 schedule for Galaxy S24 and the like
In summer, a highly reliable leaker had already announced the release date for the first One UI 7 beta version, based on Android 15, for August 29. After that, however, there was radio silence and nothing came. According to rumors, Samsung pulled the emergency brake on the new One UI version due to too many bugs and pushed the schedule back, but there have been no official statements - until today.
As part of the recent developer conference keynote, Samsung finally gave an insight into its plans, which are unfortunately rather disappointing for impatient Samsung fans. Accordingly, the Android 15 update for Galaxy phones and tablets will launch much later this year than last year's Android 14. The Galaxy S23 series first received One UI 6 in October 2023, but One UI 7 will take much longer.
One UI 7 to be released together with the Galaxy S25 in January 2025
According to Samsung, the first One UI 7 version for developers will be launched this year, but the final version for the Galaxy S24 (available here at Amazon) and the like will be rolled out together with the Galaxy S25 in January 2025. Why Samsung is taking so long this year has also been hinted at. In addition to the news about Android 15, there will be a comprehensive redesign that is expected to make operation easier, and new Galaxy AI features are also expected.
