Xiaomi is on the verge of releasing new 'flagship killers'. While the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro may feature plenty of exciting features, they are also slated to be Xiaomi's first devices to ship without charging bricks.

Xiaomi is only a few days away from unveiling its successors to last year's Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro (curr. $588 on Amazon). To recap, the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro are expected to improve upon their predecessors in a few areas, including obligatory chipset upgrades. However, various sources have since highlighted a key difference that previous leaks have failed to pick up.

In recent years, Xiaomi has become one of the last smartphone manufacturers to still include charging bricks with their devices. Bucking the trend set by Apple and followed by Android OEMs like Samsung, this is particularly useful for the Xiaomi 13T Pro that can reach 120 W. For reference, this also applies to the likes of Motorola, Honor and OnePlus, whose devices rely upon proprietary technology to reach high peak wattages.

Unfortunately, it seems that Xiaomi is set to follow Apple, Samsung and others by removing the charging brick from the box, at least for the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. As a result, the pair will have slimmer retail boxes than their peers. While the pair are not expected to retail for that much more than their predecessors, a move to selling power adapters separately would effectively raise their prices by €59.99 (~$67) apiece, which is currently the cost of an official 120 W charger in the EU. It remains to be seen whether this will become the standard for future Xiaomi releases though, such as the Redmi Note 14 series that will debut later this month in China or the Xiaomi 15 series that will arrive in October or November.
