Xiaomi 15-series charging and battery specs seem to partially refute upgrade rumors in new leak
Xiaomi has registered a new device ahead of its launch with the 3C safety regulator in China, according to widely-regarded leaker Digital Chat Station. It supports 5G and works with the OEM's aging MDY-14 90W power brick.
Those details might make it all the more disappointing for future Xiaomi flagship fans, as the tipster asserts that the device, with the model number 24129PN74C, is the upcoming successor to the vanilla 14.
Accordingly, this new report contradicts an earlier leak suggesting that the "15" would finally upgrade its wired charging in 2024.
The Xiaomi 15 is also still linked to improvements in terms of battery size, which, in light of this new tidbit, might mean it will not be charging any faster either.
On that note, a second and much more cryptic Weibo post from Digital Chat Station describes a dual-cell 2,980mAh battery that would have a rated capacity of 5,960mAh, but a typical capacity of 6,100mAh.
As a "120W" value (like the charging speed of the 14 Pro (now $769.50 on Amazon)) is also mentioned, this tip just might refer to the Xiaomi 15's Pro sibling.
