Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 now tipped to launch exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Word on the grapevine strongly indicates Samsung has scheduled its next Unpacked event for July 10, where devices like the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 will be unveiled. Details of both devices have leaked over the past few months, and a new leak now clarifies a key Galaxy Z Flip6 question.
According to leaker kro_roe, it appears Samsung will not equip the Galaxy Z Flip6 with an Exynos chipset after all. Previous reports claimed the Z Flip6 could launch with a dual-chipset setup that would see it powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in certain regions, and the Exynos 2400 in others. If this leak is anything to go by, however, those plans may have now been shelved.
While Samsung uses the dual-chipset strategy on its Galaxy S flagships, it has typically shipped its foldables with the latest flagship Qualcomm SoCs exclusively. Equipping the Galaxy Z Flip6 with the Exynos 2400 would've been a bold move away from that policy.
In any case, unlike recent Exynos chipsets, the Exynos 2400 has been a solid performer on the Galaxy S24 series (buy on Amazon)—both in terms of performance and efficiency—and does not look a notable downgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
