New Xiaomi POCO M6 4G revealed before future global release
Xiaomi already sells multiple POCO M6 series smartphones, including the POCO M6 Pro 4G (curr. $195 on Amazon). However, it turns out that the company will add to the series with another POCO M6, which has been spotted on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in the US and Thailand, respectively. As usual, the FCC does not refer to the device by its eventual retail name.
Instead, it lists the device as '2404APC5FG', with the 'G' suffix confirming Xiaomi's intentions to offer the device globally. By contrast, the NBTC has not only published an equivalent listing for the 2404APC5FG, but it has also revealed its retail name as 'POCO M6'. Moreover, the same regulatory body has detailed that this version of POCO M6 supports up to LTE (4G) connectivity. Thus, Xiaomi will likely market the device as the POCO M6 4G, given that it already sells the POCO M6 5G.
Meanwhile, the FCC reports that Xiaomi has pre-installed HyperOS, as well as a 4,930 mAh battery that supports 33 W wired charging. Please note that this battery capacity is likely its lower rated capacity. As such, Xiaomi will probably advertise the POCO M6 4G as containing a 5,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, it remains unclear when Xiaomi will release the POCO M6 4G at this stage, particularly as its direct predecessor arrived over 18 months ago.
