The Forerunner 965 is eligible for a new update. Currently released on Garmin's Beta Program, the new software makes various changes as the company attempts to squash outstanding bugs.

The Forerunner 965 has received a new beta software update, the second this month after Garmin delivered Beta Version 19.09 a few weeks ago. Incidentally, the company flighted Software Version 18.26, full details of which we have covered separately. Now, it has moved the Forerunner 965 (curr. $579 on Amazon) onto Beta Version 19.12, the second public 19.xx build.

According to Garmin, Beta Version 19.12 features four improvements compared to Beta Version 19.09. However, one of these is listed as 'various bug fixes and UI improvements'. Thus, while this covers more than one bug fixes, it is unclear what Garmin has actually bundled in this regard.

Additionally, Beta Version 19.12 should resolve bug that caused the Forerunner 965 to show invalid temperature values, plus a separate issue that intermittently prevents jump rope activity data from being uploaded. Moreover, Garmin reports that the Zwift heart rate monitors should no longer drop out on iOS after updating to Beta Version 19.12. Unfortunately, it remains unclear at this stage when any 19.xx updates will reach stable status. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
