Coros announces new features in April 2024 smartwatch update
Coros has announced the April 2024 update for its smartwatches. The software follows the Q1 release earlier this year, which brought a range of new features, including a Running Form Test and a Daily Stress measure. The latest update also contains many tools for the brand’s wearables, though many will likely only be available for the newer models.
The April 2024 update brings screen mirroring, allowing your smartwatch and phone to provide an aligned view. This can be for activity data, such as your time, heart rate and pace, or navigation with any supported activity. Coros has improved GPS accuracy for Outdoor Climb mode, and a Virtual Pacer helps you match your targeted distance or pace for your workout. Other enhancements include a refreshed activity screen and an FTP test for cyclists. The complete list of features and improvements can be found on the Coros website.
The public beta update began rolling out to the Pace 3, Apex 2, Apex 2 Pro and Vertix 2 wearables on April 24th and will be released for the Pace 2, Apex Pro and Vertix 1 on May 16th. The general app store release for the first set of wearables, including the Pace 3, will arrive on May 10th, with the second group, including the Pace 2, receiving the update from May 30th. Coros has yet to confirm which models will receive each of the features listed above.
