Garmin has announced beta version 19.12 for the Forerunner 955 series smartwatches. The software focuses on bug fixes for problems relating to temperature data and heart rate monitors. However, it does not appear to resolve an issue with Morning Report, which users flagged in the forum.

The Garmin Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 955 Solar smartwatches are receiving beta version 19.12. A phased rollout, announced in a forum post, means that the software had only reached around 20% of eligible wearables at the time of writing; Garmin has yet to indicate when the update will reach all beta program participants.

The change log lists several fixes for bugs, like false weather temperature values. The intermittent dropout issue has been resolved for users of a Zwift heart rate monitor and an iOS device. Plus, a problem with uploading Jump Rope activity data has been sorted, and there are also fixes for other, more minor bugs alongside UI improvements.

The public beta version 19.12 follows shortly after the release of beta version 19.09. While this brought new tools to the Forerunner 955 series smartwatches, like a Jet Lag Adviser glance and a GPS-based find phone tool, users also reported several issues with the release in the forum's bug reports section. For example, the Morning Report feature is missing several things, such as Rest Days, Calendar, and Daily Suggested Workout. Unfortunately, it does not look like this problem has been fixed with beta version 19.12. If you want to try the new software, you can manually download it from your smartwatch's Settings menu.
