Amazfit announces new smartwatch features with latest update
The Amazfit Cheetah Pro, Cheetah Round, and Cheetah Square smartwatches are receiving updates. At the same time, the company has released new firmware for the Falcon and T-Rex Ultra wearables, with many similarities found in the release notes for the three models.
One difference is that users of Cheetah smartwatches with an Android phone can now view image messages from WhatsApp. Otherwise, the updates are the same. Zepp Coach has been improved with guidance modes for steady-state running and walking, alongside training scores for each workout. Integration with third-party devices has been enhanced, with real-time power output data shared with a running power meter connected via Bluetooth. On top of that, more data can be shared with thermometers like the CORE Body Temperature Sensor. In fishing mode, you can note how many casts you have made and the number of fish caught, and loop timers have been added. Plus, the VO2 Max algorithm now works in Trail Run mode.
The latest updates for the Amazfit Cheetah series watches can be downloaded from the Zepp app. However, it is unclear whether all wearables have access to the firmware now or if this is a phased rollout. Amazfit has also recently released an update for the Balance smartwatch.
