Garmin’s latest public smartwatch update with bug fixes now available
Garmin has announced the release of Software Version 9.27 for the Vivoactive 5. This stable update is relatively minor and follows a similar beta release several days ago. This beta update caused some confusion, as it followed version 10.08, which appeared to be from the next beta cycle. Now, it seems this testing phase was a precursor to this broader rollout.
Software Version 9.27 focuses on Connect IQ bug fixes and is said to bring various improvements to the wearable. However, Garmin has not provided a list of the issues that have been resolved or the enhancements that have been made. The last update from the Garmin team in the forum suggested that the software had reached 50% of Garmin Vivoactive 5 smartwatches; the company has yet to indicate when it expects the rollout to be complete. Users are advised to check for the update at Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express.
The Vivoactive 5 smartwatch last received a public update, version 9.24, in February. This release brought a new jump rope activity, support for male audio prompts, and fixes for music playback bugs and battery drain issues. Software Version 9.27 is also rolling out to the Garmin Venu 3 series smartwatches, following an earlier beta update.
