Garmin announces new update with bug fixes for flagship Forerunner smartwatch
Garmin has delivered a new stable update to the Forerunner 965 (curr. $579 on Amazon), which still remains the company's most expensive Forerunner smartwatch. To recap, Software Version 18.22 arrived at the start of March with various changes from Garmin's final 17.xx build. However, the former shipped with a bug that caused some Forerunner 965 smartwatches to crash, which was quickly resolved with a hotfix by way of Software Version 18.23.
Now, Garmin has issued Software Version 18.26, again through its stable software distribution channel. As its revision number suggests, Software Version 18.26 contains relatively few changes from Software Version 18.23. Incidentally, the former also lacks many of the improvements that Garmin included with Beta Version 19.09, which debuted earlier this month.
According to Garmin's forum post, Software Version 18.26 focuses on resolving outstanding bugs associated with its Connect IQ services. On the one hand, the company's changelog reports that the new update fixes a problem that could degrade Connect IQ application performance upon ending a USB connection. Moreover, Software Version 18.26 should contain numerous other Connect IQ bug fixes and improvements. Unfortunately, Garmin has not specified what these are at this stage. Please see the company's forum post for more details.
