A new smartwatch with an extravagant design, the Hero M1, has just been launched onto the market for $40. The manufacturer also promises a lot in terms of features, although there are some grounds for skepticism here.

Chinese smartwatch manufacturer Rollme, which is known for its affordable wearables, has just launched a new model onto the market, the Rollme Hero M1. The smartwatch can be ordered directly from the manufacturer for $39.99. Shipping costs are calculated during the order process.

The Rollme Hero M1 comes in two designs: Flame Gold and Ocean Blue. The first variant comes with a black and octagonal case and a gold-colored bezel, while the second has a silver-colored case with a blue accent and strap. According to the manufacturer, the frame is made of titanium-aluminum alloy, which is said to be particularly robust and waterproof. The smartwatch is also MIL-STD-810 and IP69 certified.

The 1.45-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 360 x 360 is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. A generously sized 680 mAh battery is installed, which the manufacturer claims lasts up to 30 days. In practice, this value is likely to be significantly lower.

In addition to the mandatory monitoring of heart rate and blood oxygen levels (SpO2), Rollme also advertises the measurement of blood glucose and blood pressure. However, a similarly priced smartwatch recently revealed in a review that not much attention should be paid to these functions, as the measurements are generally inaccurate and unreliable.

These two features are thus definitely not the sole selling points of the smartwatch and should also not be used to monitor health, as it is explicitly not a medical product. Over 100 sports modes, sleep tracking and Bluetooth telephony round off the features of the Rollme Hero M1.
