Mobvoi has announced a beta testing program for an upcoming Wear OS 4 update for the TicWatch Pro 5 smartwatch. The company is recruiting users via an online questionnaire shared on its Facebook group, with customers invited to sign up before April 30th. Successful applicants will be notified around a week later.
The TicWatch Pro 5 Wear OS 4 Beta Program form notes that testers are not allowed to share information during this phase and will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Any feedback from users will be collected via a Slack group. Mobvoi has not provided details on what new features and improvements customers will see in the beta. However, Wear OS 4 is expected to bring a refreshed interface and enhanced data transfer. On top of that, the software may improve the wearable's battery life.
It remains to be seen when the Wear OS 4 update will roll out to all TicWatch Pro 5 smartwatches. It is also unclear when beta testing for other Mobvoi wearables could begin. A similar program for Wear OS 3 for the TicWatch Pro 3 LTE and Pro 3 Ultra LTE watches launched in January, with the public release beginning earlier this month. In other news, Mobvoi recently announced an update for the E3, Pro 3 GPS, and Pro 3 Ultra GPS models.
