Just a few days ago, The Information reported that Apple is planning to launch a new iPhone SE in the spring of this year. While it's expected to bring a good number of upgrades over the 3rd generation, The Information claimed that the phone will stand as a "cheaper" option within the lineup.
Now, an account named Revegnus on X has reported that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 could see a 10% price bump. Looking back, the 3rd gen launched with a starting price of $429 (renewed curr. $258.60 on Amazon), and it saw a $30 increase from the starting launch price of the 2nd gen phone.
Of course, Revegnus did mention that there's a possibility that we may see the upcoming affordable iPhone release at the same price as the predecessor. The tipster added that even if Apple increases the price tag, the phone will be under $500. That is still considered on the "cheaper" end when you consider the $799 starting price of the latest iPhone 15 series.
Besides that, The Information reported that the iPhone SE 4 will have a design similar to the regular iPhone 14. That means the Touch ID found in the 3rd generation will be replaced by the Face ID housed inside a notch on the display. The phone is also said to be featuring OLED instead of LCD, with the screen size reportedly being 6.1 inches.
Other rumored specs include a USB-C port and a dedicated Action button. As for the SoC, the phone was previously rumored to come with the A16 Bionic that Apple introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series.
