According to the latest information from leaker @stufflistings, HMD Global is currently developing a new mid-range smartphone that takes up the design of the Nokia Lumia 920, but modernizes it a little, especially in terms of the screen edges and the look of the camera module.
However, the smartphone should still offer a colorful case with a flat top and bottom that also frames the screen. This will help the phone to withstand drops better and also make the case color visible from the front. In terms of features, this mid-range smartphone is said to offer a 32-MP selfie camera and a 108-MP main camera with PureView branding, in addition to a 2 MP sensor.
A 4,900 mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging and a 120-Hz 1,080p+ AMOLED display should also be part of the standard equipment. One of the highlights of the equipment is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 - a 4 nm ARM chip from 2023, which has four ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.95 GHz.
The chip indicates that this device is the HMD "Tomcat", which was recently spotted at Geekbench. The smartphone is expected to ship with Android 14, so while the hardware is modeled after the Lumia 920, the software is not - no wonder considering how unpopular Windows Phone 8 was back then. So far, no details are known about when or at what price this mid-range smartphone from HMD Global will be launched on the market.
