Some of the newest Android smartphones on the market with the on-trend 1.5K OLED display type are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 7 Plus (or 7+) Gen 3. However, according to a famous leaker, there is a new alternative on the way from that processor's own series. It is touted to drive screens of the same quality in new devices of appreciable portability and camera hardware.

Qualcomm's streamlining of its upper-mid-range processors for Android smartphones has resulted in a series that consists of Snapdragon 7 and 7+ SoCs in what is now called their third generation. However, according to notorious leaker Digital Chat Station, they will be joined by another new sibling soon.

It is tipped to launch as the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 soon, and to go by the Qualcomm model number of SM7635 in the meantime. Accordingly, going by its alleged product name, it seems poised to slot in between the 7 and 7+ Gen 3 in terms of performance and probable price-point.

Nevertheless, it is also apparently rated to drive the higher-end 1.5K OLED displays more likely to be associated with the 7+ Gen 3 thus far.

Then again, it is not like there is a huge gulf between the 2 existing processors - especially on the international market.

For example, the 7 Gen 3-powered (and FHD+) OnePlus Nord CE4 currently starts for INR 24,999 in India, whereas the new 7+ Gen 3-based Realme GT 6T might be had for only INR 2,000 more with the introductory discounts to come with its impending release.
