Realme has loosed the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor on the Indian market in the form of the GT 6T. The SoC is touted as the country's latest flagship chipset - albeit for the sub-flagship segment, as it has been found to be on par with 2023's leading 8 Gen 2 platform.
The 7+ Gen 3 is backed to achieve AnTuTu scores of about 1.5 million, thanks in part to a new Iceberg cooling system with a vapor chamber of an arguably impressive 10,0014mm2 in size. It goes well with the GT 6T's "massive" 5,500mAh battery, with USB-C charging rated to go at up to 120W - a version of SuperVOOC even faster than that found in the higher-end OnePlus 12 or OPPO Find X7 Ultra from the same parent corporation.
The GT 6T also boasts a Sony 50MP main rear camera set into a new Nano Mirror Design rear panel finished in Razor Green or Fluid Silver, and boots Realme UI 5.0 with the OEM's latest software features, which includes a new Dynamic Island replica called the Flash Capsule.
Then again, there is no wireless charging or Wi-Fi 7 here, although its flattened 8T LTPO AMOLED display of 1.5K in resolution and a new theoretical max brightness record might make up for that.
The Realme GT 6T starts with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage set at a price (even before "Instant Bank" discounts and trade-in rebates) of INR 30,999 (~$372), although it can also be ordered as a 12GB/512GB top-end SKU for INR 39,999 (~$480, or perhaps even less) from May 29, 2024 on Amazon.in.
Meanwhile, the 8GB/256GB Samsung Galaxy S24 is currently listed at INR 63,000 (~$757) on the same platform today (May 22, 2024).
