Xiaomi recently teased the Indian launch of the Civi 4 Pro with an Apple-esque ad. Now, the company has officially unveiled when it will be stepping outside the Chinese market. The new affordable flagship is set to launch in India on 12th June, and there’s no word from the company about bringing it to the other markets.
Of course, the Civi 4 Pro is seeing a name change with this launch. It will be rebranded as the Xiaomi 14 Civi, but there won’t likely be any changes to the internals of the phone. To fill you in, it launched as the first Android phone with the newly released Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
Qualcomm released this SoC to power affordable flagships such as the Civi 4 Pro. While it doesn’t deliver as high of a performance as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it’s as close to flagship as it gets. Besides, the company is teasing the Xiaomi 14 Civi with the tagline “Cinematic Vision.” It’s mostly due to the triple camera setup on the back, which comes with Leica lenses.
This setup comprises a 50 MP primary sensor paired with a 50 MP telephoto and 12 MP ultrawide. On the front, the Civi 4 Pro came with a dual 32 MP setup, with one of them being ultrawide. The front also has a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen that has a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. For protection, it has Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
There’s no word on what the pricing of the Xiaomi 14 Civi will be like. However, the Chinese Civi 4 Pro launched at a starting price of CNY 2,999, which is around $414 or about INR 34 thousand. The Indian pricing won’t be the same as the Chinese variant, but it could be lower than the Xiaomi 14 (available on Amazon), which comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Introducing the #Xiaomi14CIVI, a revolutionary smartphone designed to capture your world with unparalleled #CinematicVision wrapped in a sleek and sophisticated design.
