Xiaomi teases Civi 4 Pro launch outside China with Apple-esque ad
Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is the latest Android phone in the Civi line, but so far, it has been exclusive to China. Well, it seems that's about to change soon, as the company has teased the launch of a new smartphone with the caption #CinematicVision and highlighting "Ci" and "Vi" at the end of the ad.
What's rather interesting about the teaser is that Xiaomi has mimicked the controversial iPad Pro ad, where Apple destroyed different creative objects such as a piano, guitar, and TV. Apple wanted to show how its latest tablet (256 GB WiFi curr. $949.99 on Amazon) compresses all those creative tools into one. However, creative minds saw it as the company trying to destroy human creativity. Apple did eventually apologize for it.
Xiaomi's new ad, on the other hand, has cinematic equipment, including lights, cameras, lenses, and clapperboard. While it does seem like an industrial hydraulic press will destroy all of them, just like Apple did in its iPad Pro ad, the press stops after coming down a little and shows "Cinematic Vision" on the screen with the "Ci and "Vi" being red in color.
This isn't the first time we've heard about Xiaomi possibly launching the Civi 4 Pro phone outside China. Previous rumors have hinted at the company rebranding the phone to Xiaomi 14 Civi or Xiaomi 14 SE. The previous reports have also hinted this launch is only for the Indian market. That seems convincing as the new ad is only available on Xiaomi India's social accounts.
As for the expected specs, if it's indeed a rebrand of Civi 4 Pro, we will see the phone coming with the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. That Android phone also had a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen, a triple-camera setup on the back with two 50 MP sensors, and dual 32 MP cameras on the front.
