Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 12 Turbo in China last week as the first smartphone with the new, impressive Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. Realme has now responded in kind today, launching its own Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2-powered smartphone, the Realme GT Neo5 SE.
The Realme GT Neo5 SE arrives with a 6.74-inch 1.5K 144 Hz AMOLED, boasting a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is, of course, the star of the show, thanks to CPU performance rivaling last year's flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It's paired with up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage and 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
A 64 MP main camera is provided, along with an 8 MP ultra-wide shooter, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 16 MP selfie snapper. OIS is present on the 64 MP camera. Other specifications of the Realme GT Neo5 SE include a 5500 mAh battery, 100 W charging, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E. The mid-range phone manages to undercut its closest rival, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo's pricing, in the two higher SKUs:
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB - CNY 1,999 (US$290)
- 12 GB RAM/256 GB - CNY 2,199 (US$320)
- 12 GB RAM/512 GB - CNY 2,299 (US$335)
- 16 GB RAM/1 TB - CNY 2,599 (US$380)
