Realme teases GT Neo5 SE as 'least SE in history' with brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset
Qualcomm has finally released the follow-up to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which skips the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 to arrive as the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2. As a result, Realme and Xiaomi have started teasing new Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 smartphones on Chinese social media. While the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, covered separately, will launch later this month, Realme has not confirmed when its first Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2-powered smartphone will be available.
According to @TechnoAnkit1, Realme will start offering the device in April, although we cannot find any official reference to this. Regardless, Realme's first Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 will be the GT Neo5 SE, the third device is the GT Neo5 series after the GT Neo5 and GT Neo5 240W. For reference, the GT Neo5 and GT Neo5 240W are practically identical, save for their battery capacities, charging capabilities and storage options.
So far, Realme has not revealed what the GT Neo5 SE looks like, nor how it will differ from the GT Neo5 or GT Neo5 240W. However, it has teased that the device will be the 'least SE in history', likely a reference to the alleged power of the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2. Reputedly, the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 will deliver considerably better performance than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 while consuming less power to boot. Incidentally, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has only made its way into the Reno8 Pro and the CIVI 2, which recently launched globally as the Xiaomi 13 Lite.
