Realme has indicated that the SE counterpart to the GT Neo5 (the Chinese version of the GT3) will be particularly special as it will be the brand's first smartphone with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. It must be truly confident in the smartphone's ability to "leapfrog" the competition in terms of performance, choosing to concede the title of first OEM to launch a device with the new processor to Redmi.
Therefore, the Note 12 Turbo will get to be the world's first 7+ Gen 2-powered smartphone, with the Neo5 SE trailing it into second on April 3, 2023. In the meantime, Realme is hyping the new product with a design reveal and hints at its new segment-subverting power.
To that end, the upcoming mid-tier device's hardware has been revealed as a variation on that of the flagship Neo5, albeit without the active RGB accents in its elongated camera hump (and, probably, the market-leading 240W charging tech). The SE does have a new holographic colorway to call its own, though, as well as 3 rear "MATRIX PDAF" shooters.
The Neo5 SE is also said to launch with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, despite its sub-flagship status.
