Realme executive Madhav Sheth has hinted that the Android brand is on the brink of breaking into the most cutting-edge, and often most premium, segment of its market to date. Accordingly, it could release a rival to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 or Flip4 soon. However, the company seems undecided as to which one to go with as its first-gen foldable smartphone.

Realme is no stranger to advanced and unusual smartphone tech, having released the fastest-charging smartphone on the market to date, not to mention an actual Coke Phone, in 2023 thus far. Now, it may be ready to follow the GT3 up with something of advanced display tech soon.

It may join others such as Google and OnePlus in becoming a purveyor of flexible-display smartphones, should a tweet from Realme's vice president Madhav Sheth be anything to go by. Its text, "What do you want next… #realmeFlip or #realmeFold?" suggests that the company is at least considering its first-gen flexible-display smartphone launch.

It might well have easy enough access to the technology involved and its mass production. Its BBK Electronics sister brand OPPO, for example, has produced some of the most competitive smartphones to date in the Find N2 and N2 Flip.

Despite their seemingly unimaginative product names, either new product might be something for the Galaxy Z Flip4 or Z Fold4 respectively to worry about - particularly should Realme be able to hit an attractive price-point with the inaugural device, as it quite often does.
