The GT Neo 5 (or non-global GT3) may have thrilled many Realme fans with the debut of new, record-setting 240W SuperVOOC charging - even so, some might have hoped that the OEM had left the gimmicky rear-mounted "Pulse Interface" out of the equation. Now, a new leak may raise hopes of an upcoming version of the Android smartphone without this LED-lit camera hump extension.
Then again, the "Neo 5 Lite" might make further omissions from the original spec sheet in order to earn its new name, and they are things some potential buyers might miss. They allegedly include the new 50MP main camera from Sony, to be replaced by a 64MP OmniVision sensor, as well as its flagship sibling's cutting-edge charging speeds.
Ironically, settling for a slower 100W profile instead might confer a 5,500mAh battery on this putative Lite version - far larger than that of the super-powered GT3. Then again, it is tipped to retain the new 144Hz/1240p AMOLED display - albeit one driven by the mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 SoC rather than the more premium 8+ Gen 1.
Accordingly, this version might launch as the 2023 series' cheapest option yet. Then again, there is no word on a launch date, pricing or availability for this "Realme GT Neo 5 Lite" as yet.
