Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 12 series at long last, having introduced the likes of the Redmi Note 12 Pro in China and India. Incidentally, there have been numerous Redmi Note 12 series leaks before its global introduction. For example, less than a week has passed since MediaMarkt and Saturn listed the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus on their websites. For some reason, the pair continue to show the smartphone as being orderable, although no other Redmi Note 12 series models are available yet.
To recap, Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus in November, among others, but only in its home market. Subsequently, the company brought the series to India with different specifications. Based on various leaks, the global versions of the Redmi Note 12 series are the same as those that Xiaomi already offers in India. Accordingly, Xiaomi will soon sell the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus globally, with the Discovery Edition remaining a Chinese exclusive.
The Redmi Note 12 series will arrive globally on March 23. While Xiaomi has not revealed pricing yet, leaks suggest that the series could retail for between €279 and €499 for the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, respectively. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has certified the Redmi Note 12S with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US, typically a sign that the company is preparing to release a device. Certified as 2303CRA44A, the device is expected to carry over several elements of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 11S. While it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will announce the Redmi Note 12S during the Redmi Note 12 series global launch event, the FCC has provided photos of the forthcoming device. Currently, Xiaomi is rumoured to have developed two Redmi Note 12S models under the codenames 'ocean and 'sea'.
