Rumor | PlayStation Earbuds will launch soon with noise cancellation and obligatory USB adapter
Sony's registration of a brand-new pair of wireless earbuds with the FCC may seem redundant so soon after its latest major audio product event - however, these may be set apart from the new flagships in that they have been designed with the specific aim of use with the PS5 in mind.
That console's lack of Bluetooth connectivity notwithstanding, it seems the new accessories are indeed headed for PlayStation (if not INZONE) branding, as they are described as a "Wireless Noise Cancelling Gaming Headset" made up of left and right buds on their new FCC listing.
Their potential place in the PS ecosystem might be underpinned by the arrival of these earbuds (with the model number YY2977) alongside a new Sony "USB Transceiver" (YY2980) on the official database.
The audio peripherals, originally alluded to during the infamous PlayStation Showcase event, have been imagined as having a case like that of the Nothing ear (stick) in the PS5 style; however, according to a diagram included with their new official registration, it will be of the standard hinged-box variety - just like that of the new WF-1000XM5s.
