ViewSonic X1-4K and X2-4K projectors for Xbox have just arrived
ViewSonic has announced two new LED projectors, the X1-4K and the X2-4K. The company claims the gadgets are the first to be designed especially for Xbox. You can use the devices to throw images up to 100-in (~254 cm) wide; the X1-4K has a 1.15 to 1.5 throw ratio, while the X2-4K has a 0.69 to 0.83 short throw ratio.
The brightness levels of the projectors also differ, with the X1-4K capable of up to 2,900 LED lumens (~1,208 ANSI lumens), and the X2-4K has up to 2,150 ANSI lumens. Both gadgets support HDR and cover 125% of the Rec.709 color gamut. Harman Kardon speakers provide an immersive audio experience, and you can cast to the gadgets from a mobile device. You can connect your Xbox to the projector via an HDMI 2.0 port, with a 4.2 ms low latency input and a 240 Hz refresh rate. ViewSonic suggests exclusive resolution and refresh rate combinations for the Xbox are available on the projectors, though it does not go into detail.
Other device features include triggering the projector to switch on via CEC and automatically selecting gaming mode when the Xbox is started. The new ViewSonic projectors have a black and green design, mimicking the Xbox Series X. The ViewSonic X1-4K and X2-4K projectors are already available in the UK, retailing for £1,202.64 (~US$1,482) at Amazon and £1,750.80 (~US$2,158) at visunext, respectively. A press release from the company suggests that the gadgets could be available more widely from Q2, though it does not indicate prices for other markets.
