The Toshiba Z870 MiniLED 4K TV series has been announced. The gadget features a 144 Hz display, which the brand says makes the device ideal for gaming. Other gaming-related tools include Game Mode Pro, which provides ALLM, AMD FreeSync technology and VRR.
The Mini LED display allows for brighter colors, improved local dimming and better backlighting. Plus, the REGZA processor powers the TV for optimized colors and contrast. The Toshiba Z870 MiniLED 4K TV is due to launch internationally in July, with the company suggesting it will launch the model in several markets worldwide. However, the exact launch date and further details, such as sizing and pricing, are yet to be confirmed.
A 100-in model of the Toshiba Z870 TV is already available in China, launched late last year. This model has 256 local dimming zones, up to 1,400 nits brightness and a 4K@120Hz resolution. The TV covers 97% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, is powered by the REGZA engine, and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The gadget has a built-in 2.1 channel sound system, or you can connect external speakers via audio out and SPDIF ports. Other ports include HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0 and USB 2.0. The 100-in Toshiba Z870 TV retails in China for 34,999 yuan (~US$5,080).
