New IKEA SYMFONISK Speaker lamp designed with Sonos launches
IKEA has launched a new lamp in its SYMFONISK range, a speaker lamp with Wi-Fi and a bamboo shade. As with other products in the lineup, the Wi-Fi speaker has been designed in collaboration with Sonos. The device supports Spotify connect, allowing you to push music directly from the app to your speaker. Alternatively, you can cast content using Apple AirPlay 2.
The SYMFONISK’s Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to wirelessly sync music across multiple SONOS speakers. When used alone, the gadget creates a 180° audio experience, or a pair of speakers can produce a stereo sound. Plus, you can connect the SYMFONISK Wi-Fi speaker to other IKEA smart home gadgets or control it via the IKEA Home Smart app via the DIRIGERA hub. The device can also be controlled via the Sonos S2 app. You can choose from white or black speaker bases; other lamp shade options include glass and fabric designs.
The base is compatible with an E27 LED bulb and measures 16 cm (~6.3-in) wide; the shade measures 25 x 20 cm (~9.8 x 7.9-in). The IKEA SYMFONISK Speaker lamp w Wi-Fi bamboo shade is now available in the UK for £185 (~US$228) and in the EU for €179 to €189 (~US$195 to US$206). The bamboo lamp shade is also sold separately for £26 (~US$32) or €30 to €40 (~US$33 to US$44). The products have yet to launch in the US.
