Realme's first ever 200MP camera smartphone has only been available to buy in India since yesterday (June 16, 2023). Despite this, the OEM now claims that the 11 Pro Plus and its 11 Pro sibling have already sold more "First Sale" units than any other mobile device in its price-tier on Flipkart. The devices offer fast charging and 120Hz displays as well as a new, Xiaomi 13 Ultra-like camera hump in their new market.
Realme has been inviting its fans in India to "zoom to the next level" with a new 11 Pro+ (presumably due to the up-to-4x spec for its brand-first 200MP main rear camera) since the very recent start of its "First Sale" event that runs until June 18, 2023 in the country.
The OEM has gone with Flipkart as an official retail partner for this event, a platform for which the new line of Realme smartphones has now reportedly set new sales records. The new series (which consists of the non-200MP, 67 SuperVOOC-equipped 11 Pro as well as the flagship 100W Pro+) has moved over 60,000 units on the site within the first 24 hours of availability.
The achievement may thus add an extra high note to Realme's successful transplant of this new ultra-high-res camera spec to the INR 20,000-30,000 (~US$240-370) price-bracket of the Android smartphone market. Accordingly, the new sales record may also serve as an ultimate swansong for Madhav Sheth's tenure as a leading executive with the company throughout its 5-year history.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
