One of the main highlights of the Realme Neo 6 was the battery. Compared to the other phones that launched alongside it, that phone featured a relatively large battery, coming in at 5,500 mAh capacity. As for the successor, it takes things up a notch.
With the latest round of teasers, Realme has shared a good number of details about the Neo 7. One of them is the battery, which is confirmed to have a rated capacity of 7,000 mAh. This is a noticeable jump from the predecessor, but interestingly, the upcoming smartphone isn't thicker than the Neo 6.
More specifically, while the predecessor measured 8.6 mm thick, the Neo 7 measures 8.5 mm. That is, even with a larger battery, it's slimmer than the Neo 6. As Realme reveals, this was possible due to the collaboration with CATL, and with this large capacity, the phone is said to offer 3 days of use with a single charge.
Realme adds that the Neo 7 can offer 23 hours of continuous video playback, 89 hours of music playback, 22 hours of map navigation, and 14 hours of video call with a fully charged battery (140W Anker 737 power bank curr. $79.99 on Amazon). While the company hasn't announced it yet, reliable leaker Digital Chat Station reports that the device will be powered by the Dimensity 9300+ SoC.
It's not the latest and greatest from MediaTek, but this last-gen SoC has what it takes to smoothly handle games and demanding tasks. Digital Chat Station has also revealed that the Realme Neo 7 can achieve 2.4 million points in AnTuTu, which is a respectable score for a last-gen flagship SoC.
As for the launch, Realme will fully unveil the Neo 7 in China on December 11, and the phone is expected to start at CNY 2,499 (about $343). The phone is expected to be rebranded as the GT 7 for the global market.
