Xiaomi 14T Pro revealed to have links to Redmi K70 Ultra with summer releases on the cards

While Xiaomi is already selling three Redmi K70 series handsets, the company is yet to replace the Redmi K60 Ultra. Nonetheless, there have been plenty of rumours about a potential Redmi K70 Ultra. For example, the device is expected to arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300, a direct replacement for the Dimensity 9200 Plus that powers the Redmi K60 Ultra.

Additionally, the Redmi K70 Ultra is rumoured to combine the Dimensity 9300 with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and an OLED display that not only delivers a 1220p resolution but also a 120 Hz refresh rate and upwards of 5,000 nits peak brightness. According to GSMChina, the Redmi K70 Ultra is being developed under the codename 'rothko' and 2407FRK8EC, with its 'C' suffix revealing that it is a Chinese regional variant. Incidentally, GSMChina has spotted 2407FPN8EG and 2407FPN8ER too, which it insists are global and Japanese variants of the Redmi K70 Ultra.

As the screenshot below shows, 2407FPN8EG and 2407FPN8ER are associated to the market name 'Xiaomi 14T Pro'. For context, the Redmi K60 Ultra carries the model number 23078RKD5C. However, the device did not arrive until August 2023. By contrast, Xiaomi held its global offshoot (Xiaomi 13T Pro) back another month to launch alongside the cheaper Xiaomi 13T at the end of September. Thus, although '2407' in all model numbers suggests that Xiaomi intends to launch the Redmi K70 Ultra and Xiaomi 14T Pro in July 2024, there is no guarantee that either device will be ready within that release window.
