2024 Lenovo GeekPro G5000 gaming laptop launches with Intel Core i7 and up to Nvidia RTX 4060

The 2024 Lenovo GeekPro G5000 has made a silent debut in the Chinese market. But it's only a slight refresh from the 2023 variant, with a CPU from the same generation as the predecessor. The good news is that the newer gaming laptop does enjoy a performance upgrade.

To be specific, Lenovo upgraded the 2024 GeekPro G5000 from the H45 platform to the HX55 with the Intel Core i7-13650HX. This, according to Lenovo, makes the gaming laptop offer up to 95 watts of performance. We gave the same processor a performance rating of 46.3 after running multiple benchmarks on it, which is very close to the Core i9-13900H. The other aspects are more or less the same as the 2023 model.

For example, like its predecessor, the newer GeekPro G5000 can be configured with Nvidia RTX 4060 or RTX 4050. The first can deliver up to 115 watts of performance, while the latter can offer up to 105 watts. But the good part is that Lenovo has packed it with a new cooling system, which aims to offer more stable performance under heavy loads.

On the front, the 2024 GeekPro G5000 has a 15.6-inch screen that offers FHD resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB color coverage. It also supports Nvidia G-Sync and features a brightness rating of 300 nits.

Besides, the 2024 GeekPro G5000 has a good number of connectivity ports, including one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1. Other highlights include WiFi 6, 60 Wh battery, 140W USB-C charging, 100W PD support, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Lenovo hasn't listed the laptop in its official store yet. However, as Chinese outlets note, it's available in third-party stores with the RTX 4050 config at CNY6299 (around $875) and the RTX 4060 variant at CNY6799 (around $944). There's also no word on global availability yet, but the previous GeekPro G5000 laptops did launch under the IdeaPad Gaming branding in the international markets (mid-tier 2022 IdeaPad Gaming 3 curr. $673 on Amazon).
