LG UltraGear 24GS60F: New 180 Hz gaming monitor launches with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC support
LG has had a busy month regarding its UltraGear gaming monitor division. On the one hand, the company released four new UltraGear OLED gaming monitors at the start of March. Incidentally, it has now supplemented these four 240 Hz OLED options with the UltraGear OLED 45GS96QB, pricing and full specifications for which we have covered separately.
On the other hand, LG has started rolling out the UltraGear 24GS60F, a cheaper alternative to its recent OLED-based refreshes. According to the company's Japanese product page, the UltraGear 24GS60F relies on a 23.8-inch IPS panel that outputs at 180 Hz and 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the compact panel delivers 300 nits peak brightness and 99% sRGB colour space coverage; LG does not list any other colour gamuts.
Moreover, the monitor boasts 1 ms GtG response times aided by AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies to mitigate image tearing. Unfortunately, I/O is another area in which LG has made some cutbacks, with only DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 video inputs offered, along with an almost obligatory 3.5 mm jack. Currently, we cannot find any other official product pages. Nonetheless, the UltraGear 24GS60F is also orderable in Europe and Canada for as low as €169.99 and CAD$249.99, respectively.
