X100 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max: Vivo tops flagship phone battery comparison but Apple is the real winner
A new video posted by the Vietnamese YouTube channel Vật Vờ Studio has put five of the latest and greatest flagship smartphones in direct competition with each other. The purpose of the video was to test the battery runtimes of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, and the Vivo X100 Pro, by running numerous apps such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and PUBG Mobile until the batteries were drained. In terms of longest runtime, the X100 Pro ended up being the champion, offering a sterling result of 8 h 37 m (517 minutes).
However, despite the running order seemingly being Vivo X100 Pro (8 h 37 m), Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (8 h 29 m), Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max (8 h 1 m), Xiaomi 14 Ultra (7 h 55 m), and Oppo Find X7 Ultra (7h 39 m), the battery sizes need to be taken into account. The video channel is transparent about this, revealing the capacities at the beginning of the test: S24 Ultra – 5,000 mAh; iPhone 15 Pro Max – 4,441 mAh; Xiaomi 14 Ultra – 5,300 mAh; Find X7 Ultra – 5,000 mAh; X100 Pro – 5,400 mAh. Taking efficiency into account flips these results around, with the phone with the largest capacity not necessarily being the best purchase for those concerned about battery efficiency.
The new order when based on battery life (minutes) per battery capacity (mAh) places the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in the lead, being the most efficient phone out of the five flagships. Once again, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is runner-up, while the rest of the chase ends up being the Vivo X100 Pro followed by the Find X7 Ultra and then the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Obviously, if price becomes a major factor, as it likely would, the iPhone 15 Pro Max still looks good compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with prices starting from $1,199 and $1,299, respectively, although the X100 Pro can be picked up for an even cheaper price (from $999 on Amazon).
