New Samsung Galaxy tablet to launch with Android 14 and One UI 6 as new budget option
The current Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (curr. $230 on Amazon) is getting on for two years old, although the tablet originates from the start of the decade. Nonetheless, it seems that Samsung is still pushing ahead with delivering a 2024 edition that provides a modest performance boost over its 2022 counterpart. While the company has not confirmed any release details yet, WinFuture and Roland Quandt have now shared official promotional images, which we have embedded below.
Seemingly, no visual differences exist between the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in its 2022 or 2024 guises. As such, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 Edition has a 10.4-inch display with relatively thick bezels and a portrait-orientated webcam. Additionally, the upcoming tablet has a single rear-facing camera, AKG-tuned speakers, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB Type-C port for charging or data transfer.
As expected, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 Edition also contains Samsung's Exynos 1280 chipset, which should offer a modest performance boost over the SoCs that power the tablet's predecessor. Reportedly, the tablet will ship with Android 14 based on One UI 6.1 with 64 GB of storage for €429, or €479 with LTE connectivity. Unfortunately, a release date remains unknown for now, as does the markets in which the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 Edition will be available.
