8BitDo is signing out the year with another refresh of its popular Ultimate 2C wireless controller. For context, hardly any time has passed since the company introduced the Ultimate Mini for those with smaller hands (curr. $34.99 on Amazon). Now, it has updated the Ultimate 2C with a pair of new colour options.
For reference, the new Brownie and Blueberry versions of the Ultimate 2C have arrived shortly after the debut of the cheaper Ultimate 2C Bluetooth. Please note that while the latter supports wired and Bluetooth connectivity, the new versions of the Ultimate 2C add 2.4 GHz to that list of connectivity options with lower latency than Bluetooth.
Accordingly, the Brownie and Blueberry versions of the Ultimate 2C come with a 2.4 GHz adapter, as well as a USB cable. Moreover, they retain the Hall effect triggers and joysticks of the original Ultimate 2C, plus its 1,000 Hz polling rate and custom button mapping. Currently, the latest Ultimate 2C can be picked up for $26.99, which represents a $3 saving on its MSRP. Please see 8BitDo's website for further details.
