Ayaneo has expanded its range of Android gaming handhelds, two days or so after revealing new details about its next flagship Widnows option. While the Ayaneo 3 should bring plenty of new features to the table over the older Ayaneo 2 and Ayaneo 2S, its latest Android-based releases are only cosmetic refreshes.
On the one hand, Ayaneo has decided to re-release the Pocket S (curr. $537.95 on Amazon) in what it describes as Retro Power and Sakura Pink finishes. Despite unveiling the colour options earlier this month, it has not confirmed how many Pocket S units it plans to sell in Retro Power and Sakura Pink, though. At any rate, the two new versions are available as 'Unmarked Edition' consoles for the following prices:
12 GB RAM/256 GB storage | 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage | 16 GB RAM/1 TB storage | |
---|---|---|---|
Super Early Bird | $439 | $469 | $619 |
Early Bird | $529 | $559 | $729 |
Retail | $589 | $619 | $789 |
On the other hand, the smaller Pocket Micro now comes in a Retro Gold finish, having previously been available in Magic Black, Retro Gray and Soul Red options. With that being said, the new variant misses out on the Pocket Micro's 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage configuration. As a result, the Retro Gold option comes exclusively with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and at an 8.7% surcharge over its regular counterparts. At the time of writing, the Pocket Micro in Retro Gold can be picked up on Indiegogo for $249 with shipments set for January 2025.
