Anbernic managed to release at least one new device monthly last year. While we are only five days into the new year, the company has already brought out something new. Specifically, Anbernic has refreshed the RG34XX, less than a month after its initial debut. For reference, the RG34XX contains the following hardware highlights:
- Allwinner H700 chipset
- 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM
- 3,500 mAh battery
- 3.4-inch IPS display, 720 x 480 pixel resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio
- Bluetooth 4.2/Wi-Fi 5 connectivity
In short, the new RG34XX is merely a cosmetic refresh, just like the RG35XX SP before it (curr. $79.99 on Amazon). Somewhat predictably, Anbernic continues to lean heavily on the Game Boy Advance's (GBA) heritage. This time, it has created a 'Glacier' version of the RG34XX, which is the same name Nintendo uses for one of its GBA variants.
Arguably, Anbernic's Glacier finish is much whiter than Nintendo's, which has a blue tint to it. Currently, the refreshed RG34XX is available to purchase from AliExpress and Anbernic directly for $69.99 with a 32 GB MicroSD card. However, the handheld can also be picked up with secondary 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB MicroSD cards for $77.99, $84.99 and $99.99, respectively.
