Less than a month has passed since Anbernic released the RG28XX (curr. $69.99 on Amazon), a 2.8-inch device that rivals the likes of the MagicX XU Mini M and the Miyoo Mini A30. However, the company has now fired out another retro gaming handheld by the way of the RG35XX SP. First revealed in March, Anbernic only officially showcased the device a week ago.
Nonetheless, Anbernic has opened initial RG35XX SP orders today both on AliExpress and on its own E-commerce platform. In summary, the RG35XX SP relies upon the same Allwinner H700 platform as other recent RG35XX devices, including the RG35XX 2024. Consequently, Anbernic advertises the RG35XX SP as being capable of emulating up to PlayStation Portable games.
Realistically, an Allwinner H700 paired with 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM is powerful enough to emulate almost all Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation games. For reference, the RG35XX SP also features a 3.5-inch display that outputs at 640 x 480 pixels, a 3,300 mAh battery and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity. Anbernic has priced the RG35XX SP at $58.99 with a 64 GB microSD card in Blue Transparent, Black Transparent, Grey and Silver colours.
Alternatively, the device can be purchased in the same finishes with 64 GB and 128 GB microSD cards for $73.99. Please note that all orders come with a screen protector and a USB Type-C charging cable. Seemingly, the device could be slightly cheaper if purchased through AliExpress, although this will depend on import taxes and shipping.
