Anbernic RG35XX SP revealed as new clamshell retro gaming handheld to rival Miyoo Mini Flip

Anbernic has only just released the RG35XX 2024, an update on last year's RG35XX. However, there is already evidence that the company has prepared another RG35XX model by the name of the RG35XX SP. As its name and the video suggest, the RG35XX SP owes its design to the Game Boy Advance SP.

By extension, the RG35XX SP also resembles the Miyoo Mini Flip. While Miyoo is expected to release the Mini Flip early next month, it is unclear when Anbernic will deliver the RG35XX SP. Nonetheless, @GameboyJuntaro has already shared hands-on footage of a complete device, which we have embedded below.

Thus, it appears that the RG35XX SP is relatively close to being officially unveiled. According to the same leaker, the RG35XX SP will utilise the same hardware as devices like RG35XX 2024. In other words, the RG35XX SP should launch later this year sporting an Allwinner H700 chipset and 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, as well as a 3.5-inch display. As a result, the gaming handheld should be powerful enough to emulate many titles released for fifth and sixth generation video game consoles like the SEGA Dreamcast and Sony PlayStation.
