Miyoo A30: New retro gaming handheld announced with Nintendo Game & Watch styling before April release
A few days ago, we reported that the Miyoo Mini had received a 25% discount, which was only around for a short period of time. Subsequently, Miyoo has hinted at the release of a new retro gaming handheld that resembles many Game & Watch units. Incidentally, Nintendo released an updated version of the Game & Watch four years ago to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. that added a colour display and various classic Super Mario Bros. games.
According to the company's official Twitter account, the device pictured above and below will arrive within a few weeks as the Miyoo A30. While the company has not revealed technical specifications yet, Retro Dodo speculates that the Miyoo A30 will contain the same hardware as the Miyoo Mini. If that is the case, then the Miyoo A30 should be powerful enough to handle most games from GameBoy Advance and PlayStation 1 libraries.
However, the Miyoo A30 will add a joystick, which the Miyoo Mini lacks. Additionally, the former will retain two pairs of shoulder buttons, XYBA buttons and a comparatively large d-pad given its size. Moreover, the Miyoo A30 will have a top-mounted USB Type-C port sandwiched between its power and volume buttons. Meanwhile, a MicroSD card slot appears to be the only port on the device's underside. Unfortunately, pricing remains unknown for now.
