AOKZOE A2 Ultra announced as new gaming handheld release for later this year
We are only a few months into 2024. Nonetheless, there have already been numerous high-end gaming handheld releases, including the long-awaited Orange Pi Neo. Additionally, AYANEO, GPD and One-Netbook have been offering up AMD Ryzen 8000 'Hawk Point' refreshes of existing systems, most recently with the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro.
By contrast, AOKZOE has been pretty much silent since launching the AOKZOE A2 in late 2023. Based on a new Weibo post, the company plans to release multiple devices this year. However, it has only outlined one so far, which it has named the AOKZOE A2 Ultra.
Unfortunately, AOKZOE has not shared any other details about the AOKZOE A2 Ultra, such as how it will differ from the AOKZOE A1 Pro and AOKZOE A2. On the one hand, the AOKZOE A2 Ultra could simply swap the Ryzen 7 7840U that powers the AOKZOE A2 for the Ryzen 7 8840U. If that were the case, then the AOKZOE A2 Ultra may offer superior gaming performance at the expense of low TDP efficiency. On the other hand, VideoCardz theorises that the 'Ultra' in AOKZOE A2 Ultra could signify the presence of an Intel Core Ultra 'Meteor Lake' processor to rival the MSI Claw.
