New Anbernic RG28XX revealed for SEGA Dreamcast and Sony PSP emulation in four colours
Anbernic is having a busy time of things currently, having had a quiet winter by its standards. For context, the company kicked off the season by releasing the RG35XX H, which it followed up with the RG556 and RG35XX 2024 before showcasing the RG35XX SP. Unfortunately, Anbernic has not provided any details about the latter since.
However, it has now shared a first look at the RG28XX on its YouTube channel. Based on its name, it would seem that the RG28XX relies upon a 2.8-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Thus, Anbernic has designed the device with retro gaming in mind, including titles from Dreamcast, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance libraries, among others.
Moreover, the RG28XX has a small d-pad, Nintendo-style face buttons and dedicated start/select buttons adorning its front panel. Meanwhile, Anbernic has included two pairs of shoulder buttons and a macro button on the device's top side, as well as HDMI and USB Type-C ports. For some reason, the company has positioned the device's volume and power buttons on its side rails where they could be easily knocked when gaming. On top of that, the RG28XX appears to lack Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. Unfortunately, Anbernic has not shared full specifications or pricing yet.
