MSI Claw gaming handheld with Intel Core Ultra 5 135H becomes available for purchase
MSI has made the base variant of the Claw gaming handheld available for purchase. As the first unit with an Intel Meteor Lake processor, it packs the Intel Core Ultra 5 135H CPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage.
There are two other variants of the MSI Claw that the brand has officially announced but aren't out yet. They both come with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, with the only difference between them being the storage. One comes with a 1 TB SSD, while the other has 512 GB of storage. These two are set to launch on March 15.
Besides that, all the other specs of the three variants are the same. That means you get a 7-inch FHD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 53 Whr battery, and Windows 11. The gaming handheld also has a USB Type-C with DP, Thunderbolt 4, and PD charging support. For wireless connectivity, the MSI Claw features Bluetooth 5.4 and Intel Killer WiFi 7. Check the complete spec sheet attached below to learn more.
Performance-wise, we already have an early gaming benchmark result for the gaming handheld. In that, the MSI Claw with Ultra 7 155H struggled against the Ryzen Z1 Extreme found in the Asus ROG Ally (available on Amazon). However, those performance scores were from a pre-release version of the gaming handheld, which you can't really rely on to come to a conclusion. But as the base variant has already become available to purchase and the others will also be available soon, you don't need to wait long for proper reviews with a better look at the performance.
