The R36S is a compact handheld emulation console that is currently on sale for under $60.

The R36S is styled like a classic Nintendo Gameboy (DMG-01). It has a 3.5-inch 640x480 IPS display made for playing retro games in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Underneath the display is a cross-shaped directional pad, ABXY buttons (arranged like those on a Nintendo Switch or Super Nintendo controller), and two joy-con style joysticks. In the middle of the front of the console are start, select, and function buttons. Around the back are four in-line shoulder buttons for L1, L2, R1, and R2 inputs. 

The handheld runs ArkOS, a modified version of Linux designed for emulation. It also supports other custom OSes, like JELOS and AmberElec. Powering the handheld is a Rockchip RK3326 quad-core processor with a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU and 1 GB of DDR3L RAM, which gives it enough power to emulate games through the PlayStation 1 (PSX) era with support for some Nintendo 64 (N64) games. 

Currently, the R36S is on sale for $59.49, or 30% off its MSRP of $84.99, over at Amazon. This includes the handheld, a USB-C cable for charging, a screen protector, a 32 GB microSD card for the operating system, and a 64 GB microSD card for storing game files.
