R43Pro: Inexpensive gaming handheld with a number of input options can play thousands of game titles

The range of gaming handhelds is now extensive. These devices can basically be divided into two main categories: systems such as the Asus ROG Ally, which also claim to be able to play reasonably current games more or less smoothly. Then there are systems from Powkiddy or Anbernic, for example, which are clearly designed for the emulation of older platforms. The R43Pro from M18 falls into the latter category and so has insufficient computing power to run modern titles. 

The system is equipped with an SoC with four Cortex A17 cores, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. 64 GB of storage is available for video games and the operating system, but there is also a larger configuration with 128 GB. The operating system is no surprise: EmuELEC is a Linux distribution that has been specially designed for emulation and, not least, operation on such a compact device. Games from the PlayStation Portable, the PlayStation 1 and the Nintendo 64 should be playable, so there are numerous possibilities.

The 4.3-inch display has a resolution of 480 x 272. There are two analog sticks, a directional pad, four shoulder buttons and, on top of the action buttons, additional switches. The 4000 mAh battery can be charged at up to 10 watts.
