TrimUI Smart Pro now available generally as budget retro gaming handheld with PlayStation Vita copycat design
A few months have passed since pre-orders opened for the TrimUI Smart Pro, a compact gaming handheld that could be mistaken for a PlayStation Vita. While KeepRetro only stocked the TrimUI Smart Pro, the gaming handheld is now more readily available through the likes of Amazon, Banggood, Mechdiy and Powkiddy. In summary, the retro gaming handheld features the following hardware:
- 4.96-inch IPS display (1,280 x 720 pixels)
- Allwinner A133P SoC (4x ARM Cortex-A53/PowerVR GE8300 GPU)
- 4,000 mAh battery
TrimUI advertises the Smart Pro as being capable of emulating up to Nintendo 64 (N64) and SEGA Dreamcast games. However, the likes of Retro Game Corps have experienced otherwise. In short, the TrimUI Smart Pro is powerful enough to handle simple Dreamcast, N64 and PSP games. Other older systems have been shown to function well though, whether that be the SNES or the original PlayStation.
Currently, the TrimUI Smart Pro retails for $102.99 on Banggood in three colours with 256 GB of storage. By contrast, Powkiddy is offering the device for $89.99 with 64 GB of storage in the same colour options, or for $99.99 with 128 GB of storage. Moreover, Mechdiy will provide the console without a MicroSD card pre-installed for $79.99. Finally, various sellers are offering the TrimUI Smart Pro through Amazon for roughly $99.99.
