Intel teases new Meteor Lake gaming handheld following ONEXPLAYER X1 and MSI Claw announcements
Intel has teased a new gaming handheld, albeit without referring to the unreleased device as such. Instead, the company has announced to its Twitter followers that 'A new handheld pc is approaching. The Tulpar brings gaming on the go!'. Unlikely to be the device's final name, 'The Tuplar' is the work of Tulpar, a subsidiary of the Turkish brand Monster Notebook.
Presented at the latest Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) event in Katowice, Poland, the Tulpar gaming handheld appears to feature a 7-inch display, which Tulpar has surrounded by relatively large bezels. Currently, Intel has not confirmed the device's underlying processor architecture. However, given the timing of its first showcase, we suspect that the device utilises a Meteor Lake processor of sorts, possibly the Core Ultra 7 155H that powers the ONEXPLAYER X1 and the MSI Claw. Two USB Type-C ports can also be seen, as can the usual array of controller buttons, with fairly modest lighting surrounding the device's two analog sticks.
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Tulpar will announce its first gaming handheld yet or in which markets. As Liliputing notes, Tulpar primarily sells products in Germany and the UK, with business and gaming laptops listed on its websites, as well as Aryond gaming monitors and Pusat-branded accessories. In other words, it would appear that the gaming handheld pictured below may be a European exclusive, unless Tulpar is planning to use the device to expand into other markets like North America.
