Honor has detailed its next 16-inch laptop. Arriving at MWC 2024 in Barcelona before a global release later this year, the Honor MagicBook Pro 16 will be available with a power Intel Meteor Lake-H processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series dedicated GPU and rear-facing I/O, among other features.

Honor has now revealed the MagicBook Pro 16, less than a week after implying that the laptop is 'smarter' than recent MacBook and Galaxy Book models. In practice, the MagicBook Pro 16 relies on the Core Ultra 7 155H, the same Intel Meteor Lake-H processor that powers the Galaxy Book4 Pro and Galaxy Book4 Ultra. Setting Honor's claims of AI smarts aside, the  Core Ultra 7 155H falls a way short of the M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets in which the latest MacBook Pro 16 is available.

For reference, the Core Ultra 7 155H contains 16 CPU cores, 22 CPU threads and an 8-core Arc iGPU, which Honor complements with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, the specifics of which the company has not disclosed yet. Additionally, the MagicBook Pro 16 has a 75 Wh battery and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. Unfortunately, Honor has not revealed the latter's total graphics power (TGP), a value that greatly affects GPU performance and varies between 35 W and 115 W on the GeForce RTX 4060. Moreover, the MagicBook Pro 16 features the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x HDMI
  • 1x Thunderbolt 4
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C

In other words, the MagicBook Pro 16 lacks an SD card slot of any kind, even the MicroSD equivalent that Samsung includes in the Galaxy Book4 Pro and Galaxy Book4 Ultra. Meanwhile, the laptop's 16-inch display outputs at 3,072 x 1,920 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 165 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, Honor claims that the display delivers 500 nits peak brightness with 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 colour space coverages. Currently, Honor anticipates that the MagicBook Pro 16 will be available globally in Q2 2024, which will be preceded by a Chinese-only launch.
